What is COVID-19?
COVID-19 is the disease caused by the new coronavirus that emerged in Wuhan, China in December 2019.There are many different kinds of coronavirus, and some of them can cause disease. A newly identified type has caused a recent outbreak of respiratory illness now called COVID-19. The new coronavirus can be spread from person to person. There is no coronavirus vaccine yet. Prevention involves frequent hand-washing, coughing into the bend of your elbow, staying home when you are sick and wearing a cloth face covering if you can't practice social distancing

How is COVID-19 Diagnosed?
The time between exposure to COVID-19 and the moment when symptoms start is commonly around five to six days but can range from 1 – 14 days.Diagnosis may be difficult with only a physical exam because mild cases of COVID-19 may appear similar to the flu or a bad cold. A laboratory test can confirm the diagnosis.
Is this Coronavirus different from SARS?
COVID-19, which is caused by the new coronavirus, has been dominating the news lately. However, you may have first become familiar with the term coronavirus during the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) outbreak in 2003. Both COVID-19 and SARS are caused by coronaviruses. Strides Pharma to conduct trials in India for potential Covid 19 Drug
Indian pharmaceutical company Strides Pharma Science Ltd said on Thursday it has got regulatory approval to conduct clinical trials of antiviral drug favipiravir, considered a potential treatment for COVID-19.The Bengaluru-based company has received approval from the Drug Controller General of India to conduct trials of favipiravir in the country, Strides founder Arun Kumar said.
